Massage Therapy

Dan Hlavinka

Dan Hlavinka Massage TherapistFind balance and equanimity with the therapeutic relaxing touch of Dan Hlavinka. He integrates different therapeutic massage modalities ranging from tranquil Swedish massage, deeper myofascial work, trigger point therapy, invigorating sports therapy, somatic release, breath awareness, and subtle energetic polarity treatments.

Dan comes from a long background in the visual arts and views the practice of massage as an art form. Dan strives to find creative solutions to assess, treat, and inform clients of his procedures so they can relax more easily while having a clear picture of his touch therapy. Dan believes the more the client is informed, the more effective his treatment can become. With self empowerment, the support of health and wellness will also be elevated by the body’s natural intelligence to find homeostasis.

Dan is honored to be part of the team of Dr. Michelle Clark’s chiropractic practice and feels that massage when coupled with chiropractic and the practices of Dr. Clark’s state of the art techniques (Active Release Technique) a symbiotic relationship to create balance and rehabilitation within the body can be found.

Dan was first exposed to the restoring benefits of massage therapy after being involved in a motorcycle accident years ago that resulted in a battered body and a significant loss of his daily range-of-motion. Even after his first massage he could sense from the aid of a warm benevolent touch that his body began letting go of the dramatic trauma and felt a shift occurring as his body. He began to mend the physical and emotional wounds from that experience. Dan came to practice the art of massage therapy when he found his eye condition: retinitus pigmentosa (a genetic degenerative retinal dysfunction) had advanced him into the class of the “legally blind”. He began his venture into touch with the Colorado School of Healing Arts while still having the ability to see, because massage has accessibility to be performed with or without the sense of sight. Even though Dan’s sight is currently fully functional, the possibility of his condition worsening is a reality. Yet, he feels blessed that he has come to this path of assisting and instilling wellness and calm in others.
